Single-Use Carryout Bag Ban
Bring-Your-Bag-Home The City of Santa Monica’s Single-use Carryout Bag Ordinance prohibits all retail establishments in Santa Monica from providing single-use plastic carryout bags to customers at the point of sale. In place for over a year, the Bag Ban is deemed a major success in demonstrating how local government, the business community and marine scientists can work together to protect Santa Monica's precious marine resources for generations to come.
